Louisiana Bound

On July 4th, 2003 I left the Naples Daily News becoming a freelancer to expand my horizons as a photographer. I figured Independence Day was a fitting day to become self employed.

I moved to the New Orleans area to be with my wonderful girlfriend Nazan who I met on assignment two years ago. Nazan is a marine scientist who works for the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (Lumcon) studying the effects of the Mississippi River runoff into the Gulf of Mexico. She is originally from Turkey and came to the US to study for her masters degree and her Ph.D. before taking the job at Lumcon.

The Everglades will continue to be a big part of my life and I will be returning often to continue working on Waterscapes and showing my work in galleries and art shows.

This move is only an expansion of Waterscapes. I will now be including the picturesque Mississippi Delta region and the coastal areas all along the Gulf of Mexico between Louisiana and the Everglades. So Soon I hope to have a Louisiana Gallery up and running on this web site once I'm settled in Louisiana.
